A timeline as data.

A free-form video that is still a document. Positions are percent of the frame, time is in seconds, sizes are tokens.

Scenes, layers, keyframes.

Each scene has a duration, a transition (fade, slide, push, zoom, wipe or match-cut), a background (solid, gradient or grain) and layers: text with type-scale tokens and safe areas, shapes, pictures and screenshots, device frames with screen slideshows and camera moves, groups and masks. Keyframes carry easings.

Edit one scene at a time.

Every scene has a stable id. Add, update, remove, move, duplicate and copy scenes from another video, each as one atomic edit that validates the whole spec and names the scene and field when something is wrong. Long videos start from an outline with chapters.

up to 300 scenes and 30 minutes in one video

Long videos.

A scene video can be up to 300 scenes and 30 minutes. A scene that has a chapter marker starts a chapter, and chapters export as YouTube chapter lines. One render pass covers up to four minutes, so a longer film is split into one video per chapter, rendered one by one.

How long can a video be?

A scene video can have up to 300 scenes and 30 minutes. One render pass covers up to four minutes, so longer films are made as chapters, split into one video per chapter and rendered one by one.
